redbluemn.com is a precinct-level map of Minnesota elections from 2014 to 2024, with census, school, health, crime and permit data layered on the same geography. It is free, requires no account, and shows its sources.

What you can do with it

• Elections — every precinct, six general elections, every race on the ballot: president, governor, US House and Senate, state legislature, and ballot questions. Click any precinct for its full results, or colour the whole state by margin.
• Census — all 1,505 Minnesota census tracts with their American Community Survey profile: population and age, race and origin, income, education, housing, employment, insurance, disability, veterans, broadband and commuting.
• Schools — Minnesota school districts with enrolment, free and reduced-price lunch, spending per pupil, MCA proficiency, attendance, graduation and college-going rates.
• Health — CDC PLACES estimates by ZIP code across roughly 40 measures.
• Crime — county-level BCA offence data, 2021–2025, by NIBRS offence type.
• Permits — permit-to-carry figures from the BCA's annual legislative report.

Two things worth knowing before you read too much into a number

Precinct demographics are estimated; tract demographics are published

The demographics shown on the Elections map are census block-group figures areally interpolated onto precinct lines — precincts are political units the Census Bureau does not publish for, so those numbers are an estimate. The Census map instead shows each tract's own published figures at the Bureau's native geography. They answer different questions, and the tract numbers are the firmer of the two.

Colour is clamped, and the legend says so

Choropleth colour is clamped to the 5th–95th percentile so a single outlier cannot flatten the scale for everywhere else. Where that happens the legend is marked with ≤ or ≥, because printing a clamp endpoint as if it were the minimum or maximum would misrepresent the data.

Privacy

No accounts, no advertising, no third-party trackers. Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and collects no personal data — which is also why this site shows no consent banner.
